I’m a transpersonal psychotherapist who has facilitated fertility groups using a holistic–i.e. body/mind/spirit perspective–for 20 years.
So far as I am aware, no one in the UK has more experience in sustained groupwork devoted to this issue–particularly with a body/mind/spirit approach.
Based on my work, I wrote A Creative Approach to Group Work for Women with Fertility Problems (available via www.bica.net).
I also run workshops to train facilitators in this approach and fertility loss services.
My own experience of infertility led me to this specialty. I have no children (but far too many cats!).
Before moving to France, I served on the Executive Committee of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) and was Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Fertility Counselling. I have written and lectured widely on the psychological dimension of fertility problems and helpful therapeutic approaches.
Originally from the United States (near Chicago), I graduated with distinction from Stanford University in Palo Alto and worked for many years as a writer and producer in broadcast news. After I moved to the UK and married my English husband, I retrained as a transpersonal psychotherapist at CCPE–Centre for Counseling and Psychotherapy Education (Maida Vale, London) where I also taught for a period. I did additional training in groupwork in London.
